Meet the Therapist Intern: A Quick Q&A with Alan
At Authentic Connections Counseling Center, we believe connection starts with real conversations. That’s why we love introducing you to the people behind the practice—like Alan! From motorcycles to music and meaningful milestones, Alan brings authenticity to everything he does. Check out his Q&A to get to know him a little better.
Q: If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who
would it be and why?
Alan: Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. I feel like we would have an amazing conversation about the challenges of being a parent and advocating for those in tough circumstances. He’s calm, principled, and deeply human—someone I’d love to learn from.
Q: What’s your go-to song when you need a mood boost?
Alan:
Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins. That song just brings the energy. It’s raw, loud, and instantly puts me in a better headspace.
Q: If you had a free day with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?
Alan: I’d take my motorcycle out for a long ride. There’s something about being on the open road, just me and the engine—it’s freeing and helps me reset mentally.
Q: If you could only watch one TV show or movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Alan: Breaking Bad. The storytelling is incredible. I could watch it again and again and still be amazed by the depth of the characters and the writing.
Q: What’s one thing you’re proud of, big or
small?
Alan: I’m published in the University of Colorado’s Journal of Historical Studies. It took a lot of research and effort, and I’m proud of the work I put into it. It’s cool to have something I created out in the world.
